Georgia Private School Tax Credit

"The Georgia Private School Tax Credit law allows eligible private citizens and corporations to receive tax credits for donations to Student Scholarship Organizations (SSOs).  SSOs will provide student scholarships to parents of eligible children who plan to attend private schools."

If you or your company pay any Georgia State Income Tax and would like to have control over how part of this money is used, this may be a great opportunity. In 2008, the Georgia General Assembly passed House Bill 1133 (HB 1133) and Governor Sonny Perdue signed it into law. The law provides for the creation of student scholarship organizations (SSOs) to which Georgia individuals and corporate taxpayers can contribute in exchange for a state income tax credit and possible federal charitable income tax deduction. This legislation allows taxpayers to “Donate” part of their Georgia Income Tax for use at Private Schools to provide Scholarships for children in Pre-K through 12th grade. The “Donor” receives a dollar for dollar credit off of their Georgia Income Tax for their “Donation”. The law allows up to $100 million per year in tax credits for Donations to Private Schools.  Please contact the school if you have any questions and read more at GASSO, Inc. or Golden Dome Scholarship Fund, Inc.
