Grades K5-5th use a blend of the A Beka curriculum and national standards to include math, social studies, science, spelling, language arts, selected chapter books and other supplementary materials. Elementary children have opportunities to learn outside of their classroom curriculum with weekly computer classes, music, art classes, a large garden, and P.E. Bible and a daily chapel service are also included in the elementary schedule. Georgia Christian's Elementary School introduces writing by using the 6+1 Writing Traits. We also know students need a chance to apply what they have learned outside of the classroom. At GCS, the elementary school takes several educational field trips throughout the year.
Library
The elementary library is working hard to enrich the love of reading for our young students. They do this with class library times and reading to the younger classes. Students are able to check out books, take Accelerated Reading tests and access other learning and research tools via the computers located in that library (including Galileo). The library keeps the students excited with many hands-on activities.
