Elementary Writing Program

In the 2008-2009 school year, we began to develop a writing portfolio for each student at Georgia Christian School (K5-5^th).  The portfolio will contain a minimum of two writing samples for each year the student is enrolled at the school (elementary, middle, and high school). 

Each grade will have a minimum of one special project that involves writing during the school year. 

Writing is a skill that must be practiced often for students to be proficient.  We urge parents to encourage a love and appreciation for writing.  Currently, our standards are three years ahead of the Georgia writing standards for public schools.  Follow this link for the GCS Elementary Writing Program Standards.
