Spiritual Knowledge

Train up a Child...

The Bible is the daily focal point of Christian education at Georgia Christian School, and it is that which sets the educational process at GCS apart from other schools. Our goal is to not only teach English, math, and science; but to also teach our students about the One whose artistry seen in the creation inspires the human heart to express itself in art and literature. We seek to teach our students about the One who formulated the laws of mathematics, chemistry and physics. We believe as Solomon wrote, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding,” Proverbs 9:10. Knowledge alone, without the moral, ethical guidance found in the teachings of Scripture, results in a dark and futile existence. It is the mastery of academic principles in conjunction with learning about God Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ that makes for a truly complete and comprehensive education.

Bible Classes

Our Bible curriculum is designed to cover the entire Bible over a seven year period without repeating itself. A student who enters GCS in the 6th grade will have studied every book in the Bible by the time they graduate from high school. The Bible itself is our primary textbook while a variety of standard Bible dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, etc. are used to provide additional helpful information. Our elementary students and pre-school children also have Bible taught as a part of their daily program with each elementary teacher covering certain portions of the Bible on a level appropriate for their age. Students are encouraged to study their Bible lessons with their parents and parents are always encouraged to contact their child’s Bible teacher concerning any questions they may have.  For a breakdown of this year's Bible curriculum, please check here.

Chapel

Daily chapel is another important component of Christian education at GCS. A few moments of each day is set aside for a chapel service in which we read a selection of Scripture, pray, sing, and have a Bible thought for the day presented. Students and faculty help to conduct the chapel services, after which we have the Pledge of Allegiance.

Bible Teachers

Our three Bible teachers are also gospel preachers. They are very knowledgeable of the Bible and live as Christian examples in front of our students. The high school Bible classes are taught by David Nelson, and Marvin Greene, while Mike Johnson teaches Bible to our middle school. These men strive to teach Bible knowledge and application, so that our students might grow closer to Christ.
