Georgia Christian School is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. at the kindergarten, elementary, middle school and high school levels.

Georgia Christian School is also a member in good standing of the Georgia Independent School Association and the National Christian School Association.

Grades K5-5th use the A Beka curriculum to include math, social studies, science, spelling, language arts, HBJ Reading, selected chapter books and other supplementary materials.   The elementary children have opportunities to learn outside of their classroom curriculum with weekly computer classes, art classes and P.E. Bible and a daily chapel service are also included in the elementary schedule. Additionally, we have a Gifted and Talented Program.  Georgia Christian's Elementary School has begun great progress on our new Writing Program. Please click here for more on the Writing Program!

Library

The elementary library is working hard to enrich the love of reading to our young students. They do this with class library times and reading to the younger classes. Students are able to check out books, take Accelerated Reading tests and access other learning and research tools via the computers located in that library. The library keeps the students excited by a yearly Book Fair and Accelerated Reader activities.

The middle school program at GCS helps transition students from the Elementary stage of their lives into a more self-sufficient student. The classes are mostly contained within one building, isolating them from the high school and elementary. Four classrooms and a locker hall make up their educational atmosphere. The students move from class to class within their grade level, which makes for a very unique and cohesive class experience. We uphold high standards of behavior and educational values for each student. The students attend academic studies, electives, and Bible classes within our building and join the high school students for Chapel and lunch.

This is a very important time in a child’s life.  It is a time of transitioning, a time when they are trying to determine who they are.  With smaller class sizes (avg of 18), our fully certified staff provides an atmosphere full of Christian values in which children have a chance to develop without being just a number.  Students are challenged academically and take several educational field trips throughout the year.  We also have a Gifted and Talented Program as well.  There are many active learning projects and activities to build camaraderie and confidence among these students to prepare them for high school.  Our curriculum is based on national standards and taught from a Christian perspective.  Additionally, there is a focus on incorporating technology into daily instruction.  Students have Bible and attend chapel on a daily basis.

Our fully certified staff challenges students on their level.  With smaller class sizes, students receive more individualized attention and teachers are willing to help students be successful even if it means before or after school tutoring.  GCS offers a College Preparatory Diploma based on national standards that are taught from a Christian perspective.  There are no state mandated tests given; our focus is on preparing students for the SAT and the ACT.  We offer Advanced Placement (AP) classes and dual enrollment with Valdosta State University to those who qualify.  Recent graduates have attended University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn University, University of Tennessee, Florida State University, and more!  We also offer a Vocational Preparatory Diploma.  Statistics point out that over 60% of future jobs will not require a four year degree, but a vocational degree or certificate.  Our campus is wireless, SMART Boards are in the classrooms, and there is a new computer lab to ensure that students are using technology.  There are many extra curricular activities for students to be involved in (athletics, chorus, literary, etc.) and since we are so small, all it takes is a student’s commitment in order to participate.  Students are taught Bible and attend chapel on a daily basis.

Pre-K3 & Pre-K4

Georgia ChristianSchool has a wonderful Pre-K3 program.  Leaving your three year old with someone else can be very stressful.  But here at GCS, they are in great hands!  With over twenty years of experience, Mrs. Lori Renfro is much like a mother to these young ones.  Children are taught using the Abeka curriculum and there are plenty of opportunities for parents to be involved with various projects, class parties, and field trips.  Students have Bible and attend chapel daily.

Our Pre-K4 program picks up from the previous year.  Continuing with the Abeka curriculum, students move beyond the alphabet and are introduced to the wonderful world of reading!  Mrs. Lori Alley (class of ’84) does a wonderful job preparing the children for kindergarten.  Those students that transition to the public schools are usually ahead of their peers.  Students have Bible and attend chapel daily.

What is amazing is that our PreK program is cheaper than most day care facilities!  Half and full day options are available as well as after school care for parents that need to pick up their children a little later.  Our children are our greatest blessing.  Why not give them a great opportunity to start their educational journey in a place that offers a solid Christian foundation for less than most day care facilities?
