Mission Statement: "To uphold Christian ideals, to build bridges for generations to come, to help students make the best of life and its opportunities and to glorify God in all things."
Alma Mater
In the heart of southern Georgia
'Neath the sun's warm glow
Lies the home of Georgia Christian
Finest place we know.
Tho' we leave thy walls forever
Many miles go hence,
May our love for Georgia Christian
Only have commenced.
Chorus:
May we cherish thy tradition
Hold thy banner high,
Ever guard thy name with fervor
Live to do or die.
We traditionally sing the Georgia Christian School Alma Mater at all home basketball games before the Varsity Boys Game.
A Little History:
Since 1914, Georgia Christian School (formerly Dasher Bible School) has been providing education in a Christian environment. We are a fully accredited school servicing K-3 to 12th grade students in the Valdosta, Georgia area. It is our desire to have a challenging academic school where the life of Christ will shine forth. Georgia Christian School is associated with the churches of Christ.

Statement of Philosophy
We believe that man has four dimensions: Spiritual, Psychological, Social and Physical, and that balance in these areas is necessary to produce holistic developments of individuals. In addition to knowledge and skills obtained in an educational setting, children should possess the ability to transfer their knowledge and skills to new situations and applications as we live in a rapidly changing world. We believe that children learn in a variety of styles and manners and at different speeds and that student readiness will vary greatly from student to student of same age.
Why GCS?
Georgia Christian School is unique in many ways. Located on fifty acres of land with large oak trees and historic buildings, one can feel the sense of tradition. With most classes having no more than twenty students, individualized attention is given. Although GCS is close to 100 years old, we are adding new technology to the campus as well as new facilities.
Academically, Georgia Christian has the ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Former students have gone on to become small business owners, engineers, veterinarians, nurses, teachers, etc. We understand that not everyone desires to go to a four year institution, that is why we will continue to offer the vocational diploma. It is our goal to help our students be prepared for whatever in life they may choose to do.
Being a smaller Christian school helps to foster a sense of community. Teachers and students can build a rapport that is often lost in the larger public school system. Many of our student athletes participate in more than one sport such as basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, golf and others. Through academics, daily chapel, sports, chorus, various clubs, service projects, etc., our students learn to work together.
Most importantly, GCS is a school based on Christian principles found in the Bible. Students attend Bible class and chapel every day. They are taught by Christian teachers and coached by Christian coaches. At GCS, we desire to create a Christ-centered atmosphere which unfortunately stands in contrast to most of today's public schools. After all, this is the reason Georgia Christian School was started back in 1914-to provide Christian education.
So whether it is academics, athletics, a Christian community atmosphere, or all of them, Georgia Christian School can accommodate. Please continue to browse our website and feel free to contact us with any questions.
